I keep getting Band 5.5 for Writing on an AI platform. What should I improve?

Treat an AI band score as a rough practice indicator, not a prediction of your official IELTS result. Ask for evidence-based feedback on the four writing criteria rather than another number. For Task 2, check that you answer every part of the question, present a clear position and develop your main ideas with explanations and examples.

Check paragraph organisation, grammatical accuracy and natural vocabulary. Identify the two or three errors you make most often, practise correcting them, then rewrite the same essay. Rewriting makes it easier to see whether your corrections are becoming part of your writing.
