What should I do when I miss an answer during the Listening test?
Move on to the next question rather than mentally replaying the missed answer while the recording continues. Use any brief pause to reorient yourself, predict the type of information required and follow the next question. During practice, train this recovery skill deliberately: play a section once under test conditions and keep going even if you lose your place.
Afterwards, use the transcript to work out what caused the problem. Also check spelling, singular and plural forms, and any word-limit instructions. Avoid losing additional marks because of one missed item.
