I keep getting Band 5.5–6.0 in Reading. How can I improve?
Start by investigating why you lose marks, rather than simply taking more tests. After each practice passage, find the exact sentence or sentences that support the correct answer. Was the problem vocabulary, a paraphrase you missed, the question type or time pressure?
Keep a short error log so you can spot patterns. Practise your weakest question types separately, then return to timed passages. Build accuracy first; speed usually improves when you recognise how questions relate to the text.
