My Task 1 mock score is 5.5 with two weeks left. What band can I expect?

No online marking platform can reliably predict your official Writing band from that score alone. Repeated low scores do, however, suggest there may be issues worth fixing. In Academic Task 1, check the accuracy of your data selection, the clarity of your overview, comparisons, paragraphing and language.

Ask for examples of specific weaknesses and practise those rather than taking test after test. Remember that Task 1 contributes one-third of the Writing score and Task 2 contributes two-thirds. Your likely overall Writing result therefore also depends heavily on your Task 2 performance.
